Before the Shoot: Getting Your Home Photo Ready
To ensure your property looks the absolute best, a little preparation goes a long way. Follow these simple steps before your shoot. The more photo ready the home is, the better the listing will perform - clean, bright, and clutter free spaces always attract more buyers.
General Preparation:
Turn on all interior and exterior lights
Replace any burnt out bulbs (use matching color temperatures when possible)
Open all blinds and cuttings to let in natural light
Turn off all ceiling fans and TVs
Secure pets and remove all pet items from view (toys, beds, bowls)
Clear trash cans, cords, and clutter from view
Kitchen:
Clear countertops (leave only a few decorative items if desired)
Put away small appliances (toasters, coffee pots, etc.)
Clean and wipe down all surfaces
Remove magnets, and items from refrigerator
Living Areas:
Declutter surfaces (tables, chairs, entertainment centers)
Arrange pillows and straighten furniture
Remove personal items like family photos and excessive decor
Bedrooms:
Make beds neatly
Clear nightstands and dressers
Put away laundry and personal items
Bathrooms:
Remove all toiletries from counter tops and showers
Close toilet lids
Hang fresh, clean towels
Clean mirror, glass, and surfaces throughout
Exterior:
Mow the lawn and tidy landscaping
Remove vehicles from driveway and front of home
Put away garbage cans, hoses, and lawn tools
Clean up patios, porches, and lawn furniture
